Bio

Jeremy van der Riet is an MPhil student at Stellenbosch University specialising in land-use economics in Namibia. His work focuses on coordinating and conducting survey research to collect economic data on private farming enterprises. Through this research, he aims to provide insights into wildlife enterprises, their challenges and their economic viability to inform policy decisions and support farmers in developing Southern Africa's wildlife economy.

His research also examines the role of wildlife in sustainable development, contributing to a broader understanding of its economic and ecological impacts on private, communal and state land. Jeremy's work is linked to Life Through Wildlife, "A program for scholar-practitioners developing sustainable use, self-governance and financial independence in African conservation".
