A webinar on the harvesting and trade of African wild plants, in celebration of World Wildlife Day 2026.
The World Wildlife Day 2026 theme is Medicinal and Aromatic Plants: Conserving Health, Heritage and Livelihoods.
The Africa's Wild Plants Webinar is hosted by ShareScreen Africa and facilitated by the African Wildlife Economy Institute, with speakers from the FairWild Foundation and the AAK Kolo Nafaso programme in Ghana.
The hour-long webinar explored the immense opportunities for growing Africa's wild plant economy, then take a closer look at AAK's impressive Kolo Nafaso programme in Ghana, which has employed more than 200,000 women shea harvesters.
The webinar was facilitated by Ms Lydia Daring Bhebe, AWEI Research Associate & PhD Candidate, and featured the following speakers:
