The 28th meeting of the CBD Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice (SBSTTA)  will focus on both organisational matters and substantive issues.

The CBD Secretariat will organise the meeting with the UN Environment Programme (UNEP).

Agenda

Provisional agenda 

  1. Opening of the meeting.
  2. Organizational matters: election of officers, adoption of the agenda and organization of work.
  3. Planning, monitoring, reporting and review:
    1. Global review of collective progress in the implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework;
    2. Monitoring framework for the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.
  4. Matters related to the work programme of the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services.
  5. Synthetic biology.
  6. Sustainable wildlife management.
  7. Scientific and technical needs to support the implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework: strategic review of and update to the programme of work on protected areas.
  8. Marine and coastal biodiversity.
  9. Other matters.
  10. Adoption of the report.
  11. Closure of the meeting.
